PENISTONE 14.12.2003

Here is all of the gossip for whoever was not able to make it to the show at York this time around.
On our arrival, we were soon followed by the Skills (Mandy&Ken), and then arrived Pat and Mick,
who soon took the initiative and investigated the opening of the church hall, soon Pat came back with the news that we may not be able to have a show, due to some mindless vandalism, leaving us without electricity and heat .Luckily enough the local vicar stepped in as our savior, and who also happened to be an electrician in his spare time! So, the show went on, and here we were setting up the tables, Pat & Mick were well in control of the catering, and soon Mick and Margaret Turnidge arrived on the scene.
All we waited for was our show secretary and our sales representative, so we waited, and waited and waited until they finally arrived (of course Sue had managed to get in a bit of a scrape with 1 of the hamsters before hand haha!)
Of course it was noted that the Pet section was the best turn out we have ever seen (14 entries) and of course was judged by myself. The biggest fluffy rabbit I have ever seen won this section.
We came to draw the bonusball and who should win it but our original roving reporter himself, we are all beginning to think it was a big fiddle! Only joking Barry ;)
We were having a great day, until a little girls bike was stolen from the sanctuary of the church, Julie & Dianne went out to investigate and noticed two police women on the corner of the street and decided to report the incident, to find themselves in the middle of a crime scene with a car wreck (smashed out windows), done by 5-6 year old children!!!
So at that Dianne and Julie made it quickly back to the sanctuary of the church hall, it was a sad ending to a great show, here is hoping that the little girl got her bike back safely. Your stand- in reporter,
