DONCASTER 18.01.2003

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great time over the silly season. Well the New Year did not start too well for yours truly. Something vicious and nasty got into my hamstery. I spoke to one of my dear friends, Sue Kilburn, who was also show sec, telling Sue about my dilemma and loss of about 10 hammies and 2 litters, and may not have any show stock left. After some T.L.C. on my hammies I managed book in my entries. Then people started to phone me saying I've got some hamsters for you. Not only northern members, but members from all 3 affiliated clubs to the National Hamster Council plus friends in The B. H. A.
Saturday the 18th. Show day, the roving reporter was inundated with gifts of Show Class Hammies, Breedable Pairs, Young Stock of various colours, long and short haired Syrian & Dwarfs. Filling up and drinking from The Cup of Human Kindness the roving reporter got a little light headed. Pat Richardson our club rep for this show was summoned to the stage at 11:30 on the dot (what had we done wrong). The allocated time arrived and off we went. I had to go as reporter (nosey git). We had won 3rd place in the most informative stand category.
I was told two dwarfs were mating as they were waiting to be judged! I have looked in the Constitution and the Standards, and cannot find any ruling on it. Giving Birth yes, but not mating.
After all Prizes given speeches made home we went everyone feeling good about having had a good start to 2003.
