WOMBWELL 6.10.2002

Hi everyone, your illustrious reporter here again. Well, this month it was our A.G.M. We discussed lots of things but I can't mention what we talked about. It's top secret but if you are really nosy ask Sid, Elaine or Wendy. (But you did not get their names from me (You know what I mean))
I forgot I was show sec till young Alan Epton phoned with his entries and I asked why are you giving them to me? He then told me my name and phone number were on the schedule. I took the entries and phoned our Show Manager and she informed me this is all correct and your show sec bag is here in the front room.
After getting the show sec bag panic stations. Will I be ready for the show Sunday? Will I have all the paper work done in time? I stayed in Monday night to take entries, no one called. Tuesday also stayed in - nothing not even a wrong number. Wednesday Hayley went on internet to check email, logged off at 1810Hrs (ten past six). Later that evening my mobile rang. I noticed it was Flattop calling. I pressed the button to take her call but nothing. It rang again in milliseconds, I answer it saying "hi Sue" but I got a shock when I heard the dulcet tones of Margaret Turnidge asking me if I knew my house phone was out of order. Having fixing the problem in seconds everything went to plan.
We had a small entry for Dwarfs, which Jane Martin judged with ease, giving Tulip Tree B.O.S, Dee Jay Hams B.I.S. Junior and B.I.S. Mr Skidmore judged the Syrians, and Mr Turnidge did pen stewarding. Sorry, I mean The Two Ronnie's. Classes 1 to 4 went with no problems. Then came class 5, shorthaired white, only one hamster, having written the place cards out at home. What could go wrong I thought, forgetting about Ronnie 1 & Ronnie 2. Sid said "Mick you will have to reclassify it" and Mick replied "I've already put a red sticker on". Being on the ball I asked, "What class is it to be reclassified to and the reason?" Sid then told me "Into the patterned class as it was A WHITE DOMINANT SPOT" and yes I fell for it. The Ronnie's took the Mickey out of me for the rest of the show.
Sid awarded B.I.S.Junior to Alan Epton, well done Alan, Blade got B.O.S., Tulip Tree B.I.S.
At the A.G.M. after the show the rest of the Members thought it might be funny if we all take the mickey. Someone in the meeting said we could try B.O.G.O.F and I thought they were talking about me. An old saying comes to mind "Who needs Enemies with Friends like these."
